We are many volumes of the same story. Comprised of both male and female, current and former firefighters who have experienced and recognize the need for equity and justice within the Winston-Salem Fire Department.
We are a microcosm of the City of Winston-Salem and as such we welcome all races, religions, creeds, and cultures who realize the need for inclusion.

During a July 2020 press conference, 20, members of Omnibus, a local organization of Black firefighters, laid out a history of racism that includes gorilla masks, nooses, and gobs of used chewing tobacco.

The mission of OMNIBUS is to expose and dismantle the structure of systemic racism, sexism and exclusion. Our goal is to facilitate healthy and viable careers within the department for current and future firefighters.
